Ultherapy

Stimulates your body’s own healing powers to lift skin and smooth visible lines and wrinkle with ultrasound therapy

If you’re looking to enhance your appearance without surgery, Ultherapy can be an excellent option. Ultherapy is a revolutionary non-surgical treatment designed to lift, tighten, and tone your skin using advanced ultrasound technology. At Balle Bliss Luxury Medical Spa in Cypress, TX, we are proud to offer this treatment to help you achieve a more youthful, refreshed look. Whether you’re concerned about sagging skin or fine lines, Ultherapy can help.

What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin deep within the skin. This natural process helps to lift and tighten the skin, addressing signs of aging and promoting a smoother, more contoured appearance.

How Does Ultherapy Work?

Ultherapy targets the deeper layers of your skin using ultrasound energy. This energy heats the tissue, triggering a natural healing response and stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin. The result is gradual and natural-looking improvement in skin firmness and elasticity over time.

Ultherapy can even go deep enough to reach the Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System (SMAS), which is the layer of tissue that surgeons adjust during a facelift. By using focused ultrasound energy, the treatment bypasses the surface of your skin to reach this foundational layer without disrupting the skin. The ultrasound energy stimulates collagen production in the SMAS layer as well as the dermis and other fibromuscular layers leading to a tightening and lifting effect over time.

What are the Benefits of Ultherapy?

  • Non-Invasive: No surgery, no downtime—just effective results.
  • Skin Tightening: Improve skin laxity and firmness.
  • Lift and Contour: Achieve a natural lift in areas like the brow, chin, and neck.
  • Long-Lasting Results: Enjoy visible improvements that continue to develop over months.
  • Safe and Effective: FDA-cleared with a proven track record.
  • Suitable for All Skin Tones: Because it works deep within the skin, Ultherapy is suitable for all skin tones.

Why Choose Ultherapy?

It Has Extensive Clinical Evidence

Ultherapy stands out with comprehensive clinical evidence compared to other non-invasive skin tightening devices. With over 120 peer-reviewed studies and publications supporting its effectiveness, Ultherapy has been tested and validated by experts in the field of aesthetic medicine. This wealth of clinical data makes it one of the most trusted and proven treatments for non-surgical lifting and skin tightening.

It Is Unique Among Other Skin Tightening Devices

The technology used in the Ultherapy device is different from other skin tightening treatments in its use of micro-focused ultrasound energy. Radiofrequency and laser treatments are effective but mainly work on the skin’s surface. Ultherapy reaches deeper. This unique ability to deliver energy precisely where it’s wanted makes it effective for natural lifting and tightening, with minimal discomfort and no downtime.

It Has High Patient Satisfaction

Patients consistently report high satisfaction with Ultherapy results. 95% of patients still experience satisfaction with their lifted, rejuvenated appearance one year after treatment. As collagen production increases over time, patients see continuous results for months after their session.

It Has Award-Winning Technology

For 11 consecutive years, Ultherapy has been honored as the NewBeauty Best Non Surgical Skin Tightener. At the AMWC 2022 Aesthetic Medicine Awards, Ultherapy® was awarded Best Skin Tightening Device.

What to Expect Before Ultherapy

Before your treatment, you will have a chance to discuss your concerns with us and find out if you are a good candidate for non-invasive facial rejuvenation. We will ask you about your medical history and find out more about your goals. Make sure to bring a list of any questions that you have about the treatment so you can ask them once you are in our office.

You will also receive information about the areas we can treat, what to expect from the process, and what results you can expect in your situation. There is no need for any special preparation and you will not need to arrange for post-treatment recovery or a ride home

What to Expect During Ultherapy

The Ultherapy treatment typically lasts between 60 to 120 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. The device will be placed on the skin where real-time visualization allows us to see the layers of your skin and the depth of treatment. During the treatment, you may experience a sensation of warmth and slight discomfort as the ultrasound energy targets the deeper layers of your skin. This discomfort is generally well-tolerated and subsides shortly after the treatment. We do offer pain medications as well as nitrous oxide (ProNox) to help with the discomfort if needed.

What to Expect After Ultherapy

There is no downtime with Ultherapy, and most patients resume their normal activities immediately. You may experience mild redness or swelling in the treated areas, which usually resolves quickly. Your focus after treatment should be on self-care, with a particular focus on caring for your skin. Stay hydrated to help your body as it responds to the treatment. Use gentle products for your skin including a light moisturizer and a cleanser that is not harsh on the skin. Make sure all of the products you use are non-comedogenic (products that will not clog the pores.) Too much sunlight can age the skin more, so always protect your skin with a daily sunscreen and wear protective clothing such as a hat when spending time outside.

A Timeline for Ultherapy Results

You will notice an immediate glow right after Ultherapy, but optimal results show in 2-3 months with continued improvement over the following 6 months as your skin builds new collagen and elastin. The immediate glow you experience right after treatment is due to increased blood flow to the treated areas, which gives your skin a refreshed and revitalized appearance. While this effect is temporary, the real transformation has already begun beneath the surface. As the ultrasound energy stimulates your skin’s deeper layers, fibroblasts—cells responsible for producing collagen—are activated. These fibroblasts start generating new collagen fibers, gradually tightening and lifting the skin. Over the course of the next few months, this collagen remodeling process continues, leading to firmer, smoother skin. By two to three months, the new collagen has strengthened the underlying structure of your skin, providing visible lift and improved elasticity. This collagen production can continue for up to six months with results that can still be seen one year after treatment.

How to Improve and Maintain Your Ultherapy Results

To get the most out of your Ultherapy treatment, it’s important to take care of your skin and support the collagen-building process. After the treatment, using medical-grade skincare products such as those rich in peptides or antioxidants, can help nourish your skin and maintain its elasticity. Staying hydrated, avoiding excessive sun exposure, and continuing to use sunscreen with a high SPF will also protect the collagen and elastin your skin is working hard to produce.

Ultherapy Treatments for Men

Ultherapy isn’t just for women. It’s a great option for men who want to tighten their skin without surgery. For many men, the appeal lies in the subtle, natural-looking results that don’t look like “work” has been done. It’s a non-invasive treatment, so it is easy to fit into a busy schedule. Men often seek Ultherapy to address sagging skin around the neck, jawline, and brow, areas that can be tough to target with other treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ultherapy

How Can My Treatment Be Customized?

Each Ultherapy treatment is personalized based on your skin characteristics. Factors like age, skin type, body area, gender, BMI, and even your smoking history can affect how we approach your session. The thickness and depth of the skin’s tissue layers can vary from one person to another, which is why it’s important to tailor each treatment accordingly.

With Ultherapy, we can use imaging to precisely identify the collagen-rich areas in your skin and target them at the right depth. Whether it’s at 1.5mm, 3.0mm, or 4.5mm, we deliver the ultrasound energy exactly where it’s needed, reaching the dermis and beyond.

How Long Can Ultherapy Results Last?

The results of Ultherapy can last up to a year or more, depending on your skin’s natural aging process and how well you care for your skin after treatment. While Ultherapy helps stimulate collagen production, the aging process continues, so you may choose to have maintenance treatments to preserve their results and keep your skin looking firm and lifted.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Ultherapy?

If you answer “yes” to most of these, Ultherapy could be a great option. However, the best way to know for sure is to schedule a consultation where we can assess your skin.

  • Do you have mild to moderate skin laxity?
  • Are you beginning to notice fine lines or wrinkles?
  • Do you want natural-looking results that develop gradually?
  • Are you in good overall health?
  • Do you have realistic expectations about the results?
  • Do you want minimal downtime?
  • Are you aged 30-65?
  • Do you avoid smoking and excessive sun exposure?

Can I Get Ultherapy If I Have Sensitive Skin?

Ultherapy is a good option for patients with sensitive skin. Since it’s non-invasive and doesn’t affect the skin’s surface, there’s minimal risk of irritation or reactions that are common with other treatments. However, we’ll still evaluate your skin type during your consultation to ensure Ultherapy is the best option for you and to make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.

How Many Ultherapy Treatments Will I Need?

Almost all patients only need one Ultherapy treatment to see significant results, but the number of sessions can depend on your individual skin condition and goals. Some patients with more advanced skin laxity may benefit from two sessions.

Who Should Avoid Ultherapy?

Those with open wounds, severe skin conditions, or active infections in the treatment area should wait until these issues have been resolved. Ultherapy is not recommended for patients with pacemakers or other electronic implants, as the ultrasound energy may interfere with these devices. Pregnant women are also advised to avoid Ultherapy, as the effects of the treatment on pregnancy have not been thoroughly studied.
